How to host an IFF Event

Any country which is registered to participate to an IFF Event may apply to host it. The application, bidding, and appointment process is different for each event category.

Adult World Championships are generally hosted by the larger IFF National Associations who have vast experience in hosting IFF events, however, the invitation to bid for the hosting rights is open to all IFF member countries. The bidding process begins approximately 3 years in advance of the event, with the appointment of the organiser made no later than 2 years prior to the event.

U19 World Championships is an event which is suitable for an organiser who has already hosted several lower-level IFF events, such as U19 or adult WFC qualifications, and are ready to take the next step in event hosting. The bidding process begins approximately 2 years in advance of the event, with the appointment of the organiser made no later than 18 months prior to the event.

Qualification events are the lowest category of IFF event and are an excellent entry-level event for new organisers. They involve fewer teams and have less organiser requirements than the final round events. The invitation to express an interest in hosting this level of event is usually sent around 18 months prior to the event, and an organiser appointed no later than 12 months prior.
