FairFloorball

In conjunction with the adult World Floorball Championships 2021, the IFF launched the sustainability initiative, FairFloorball. The initiative aims to encourage everyone to act responsibly. The foundation, fair, derives from IFF values and emphasizes many points from IFF sustainability programs.

In the process of developing the campaign it was identified that fair, which is one the values of the IFF, as a word describes many of the things that the federation wishes to promote.

According to the Cambridge English Dictionary fair has following meanings:

  • (adjective) treating people equally without favouritism or discrimination.
    • “The group has achieved fair and equal representation for all its members“
  • (adverb) without cheating or trying to achieve unjust advantage.
    • “No one could say he didn’t play fair”

The following punchlines cover different areas of the campaign:

  • FairPlay – Anti-doping / Illegal betting / Match-fixing / Game rules
  • FairAccess – Special Olympics / Wheelchair Floorball / Diverse formats of the sport
  • FairTreatment – Equality /LGBT+ / Discrimination / Racism / Respect
  • FairFuture – Youth / Development / Environment / Economic support

The campaign is visible in IFF events in various forms on advertising surfaces, social media, players and referees. Some events will also have activation in the venues.

The concept is anchored in three elements: Environment, Social and Governance (see below picture). The IFF Central Board, Ethics Commission and Athletes’ Commission have all been involved in the development phase.

A video promoting the different areas of FairFloorball was launched during the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2021
